I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson
This book contains as many references to art as David Levithan’s books contain references to music (that’s a lot). That, plus the constant use of metaphor, kind of makesI’ll Give You The Sun feel half-book, half-painting. I’m sorry, that was sappy. Anyways.
Holy crap, plot twist. How did you feel about Jude and Noah’s mom was portrayed? On a broader note, it seemed a lot of mistakes were made by characters in the novel, but it all ended in forgiveness. What did you think of that?
Did the artsy-ness of the book put you off (I’ve heard it has for a lot of readers)?
Was the ghost real? Does it matter?
Where the hell is Ralph?
(Feel free to just talk about how much you loved the book, if you want. As with all posts on this site, I’ll be replying to anyone who wants to discuss!)
